Frequently asked questions

How do I use the X / Twitter Fonts Generator?

Write a post or bio and style individual words with 18 Unicode alphabets, including bold, italic, script and gothic. These are copyable characters rather than installed fonts, so their appearance depends on the device reading them. Write or paste your message in the composer. Choose a font and start typing, or select words and choose a font to restyle just that part. Use Undo to try again, then Copy message to paste your finished post into X.

How do I make bold, italic or cursive text for Twitter?

Type your text, select the words you want to change, and choose Bold, Italic or Script. Copy message keeps the styled text so you can paste it into an X post, reply or bio. Check the pasted text before publishing because rendering varies by device.

Does this change the X app font or install Chirp?

No. It creates Unicode text you can copy and paste. It does not install fonts, change X’s interface, or provide a Chirp font download.

Can I mix fonts in one tweet?

Yes. Select part of your message and choose a style for just those words. Select another part to give it a different style. Copy message copies the complete combination. Plain text resets the selection’s style; Undo restores the original text and case.

Will every letter change?

No. Each style has a limited alphabet. Unsupported characters, accents and emoji are preserved.

Why does styled text use more characters?

X weights many Unicode characters as two. The displayed count uses the same weighted counting helper as our character counter.

How do I copy and paste fonts into my X bio?

Write your bio here, select the words to style and choose a font. Use Copy message, then paste into the bio field on X. The styling uses Unicode characters, so no font installation is needed. Check the bio’s own length limit and appearance before saving; the counter here is for posts.

What should I know before using this tool?

Decorative Unicode can be difficult for screen readers and search. Keep important names and information in plain text. Many styled characters count as two toward X’s limit.
