Twitter shadowban check and test
A Twitter or X shadowban, as people use the term, means a public account whose posts are hard for others to find in search. This check compares a public profile and a sample of recent posts with search results, and it cannot prove an enforcement action.
What shadowbanning is
People use shadowban for a public X account whose posts are hard for others to find in search. Only X can confirm an enforcement decision. This page cannot see those systems.
The result is a comparison: whether the public profile is accessible, and how many eligible posts from a small sample also appear in search.
How to check if you are shadowbanned (manual and tool-based tests)
Read the sample on this page, then compare a post with X’s own Latest search. A missing match is a reason to look, not a diagnosis.
- Enter an X username or profile link.
- The test compares eligible posts from a sample of 20 timeline posts with up to 20 Latest search results in the same date window.
- Read the sample visibility percentage and inspect which posts were found, missing, or skipped.
- Use Check on X to compare a post with Latest search. Missing matches alone do not establish a shadowban.
Twitter shadowban test
The Twitter shadowban test checks whether the public profile is accessible, then compares eligible recent posts with a sample of Latest search results.
Reposts, replies, posts older than 30 days, and posts less than 15 minutes old are skipped. The 15-minute buffer is a precaution, not an indexing guarantee from X. An inaccessible profile or an empty timeline is inconclusive, not a shadowban diagnosis.
If 4 of 12 eligible posts appear in search, sample visibility is 33%. This describes the sampled posts. It is not a probability of being shadowbanned and does not prove the other 8 are restricted.
How to remove or recover from a shadowban
This tool cannot change your account or remove a restriction. It can show the visibility evidence available at the time of the check.
Check any notices in your X account and use X’s own appeal options if a notice offers them.
How to avoid getting shadowbanned
This test cannot tell you how to avoid an enforcement action. It does not measure reply placement, autocomplete suggestions, or every viewer.
A missing match can reflect indexing delays, a small sample, private content, or limited provider coverage. A full match does not test recommendations or account-wide visibility.
Frequently asked questions
How do I use the X / Twitter Shadowban Checker?
A Twitter or X shadowban, as people use the term, means a public account whose posts are hard for others to find in search. This check compares a public profile and a sample of recent posts with search results, and it cannot prove an enforcement action. Enter an X username or profile link. Compare eligible posts from a sample of 20 timeline posts with up to 20 Latest search results in the same date window. Read the sample visibility percentage and inspect which posts were found, missing or skipped.
Does this test ghost bans, reply deboosting or search suggestions?
No. This checker compares eligible recent posts with a sample of search results and checks whether the public profile is accessible. It does not measure reply placement or autocomplete suggestions, so it cannot diagnose a ghost ban, reply deboosting or a search suggestion ban.
Can this tool fix a Twitter shadowban?
No. It can show the visibility evidence available at the time of the check, but cannot change your account or remove a restriction. Check any notices in your X account and use X’s own appeal options if a notice offers them.
What does the percentage mean?
The share of eligible sampled posts found in the search response. We skip reposts, replies, posts older than 30 days, posts less than 15 minutes old, and posts outside a full search page’s time range. The 15-minute buffer is a precaution, not an indexing guarantee from X. An inconclusive check has no percentage.
Can this prove I am shadowbanned?
No. Only X can confirm its internal enforcement decisions. This is an observable visibility check.
Why are the results inconclusive?
Protected accounts, missing profiles, empty timelines and upstream failures do not supply enough evidence for a comparison.
Why are some of my X posts not showing in search?
A missing post can reflect indexing delays, the search date window or the provider’s limited coverage. Expand the checked posts to see which were compared, then use Check on X to compare with Latest search. Missing matches alone do not establish a shadowban.

How long does a shadowban last, and will I be notified?
This checker does not report a duration and does not send a notification. It only shows the visibility evidence from the current check. Only X can confirm its own enforcement decisions.
What should I know before using this tool?
A missing match can reflect indexing delays, a small sample, private content or provider coverage. An inaccessible profile or empty timeline produces an inconclusive result, not a shadowban diagnosis. Results may be cached for five minutes. Free live lookups share a daily service limit.
